Frequently asked questions

We have tried to cover the main questions asked by clients below. If you do not find the answer you're looking for below, please feel free to contact me.

Are complementary therapies safe?
Yes they are, if you take the time to choose a qualified and experienced therapist. During your initial consultation you will be asked a series of questions which will allow me to gather information to compile a tailored and appropriate treatment plan for you.
I am taking medication, do I need to stop taking it?
No, I will never suggest you stop taking any medication which you are being prescribed. I can work alongside your GP to facilitate any improvements with your health and wellbeing but will never give advice on changing doses or stopping.
How do I know which Practitioner to choose?
Choosing the right practitioner can prove difficult. Always make sure you ask them about their training and experience. A professional therapist will be more than happy to tell you about their background. If you feel unsure you should contact the awarding body for clarification and to make sure they are registered.
I am pregnant, can I still come for treatments?
During pregnancy reflexology can be very beneficial and help you to cope with tiredness, hypertension and morning sickness. Regular treatments can help you to keep relaxed and help prepare the body for the birth.
How many treatments will I need to have?
This is completely individual and will depend on your current health. After your initial consultation, I will discuss with you what I would recommend which would be best for you. An initial course of six treatments are recommended and I offer a discount if this is booked in advance. If you are having reflexology purely for relaxation then you can book treatment at your convenience.
What do I need to bring to my first consultation?
All you need to bring is yourself! If you are prescribed any medication please bring a list of what it is you take, the dose and how often you take them.
Can children and babies benefit from complementary therapies?
Yes. A parent or guardian should always be present during any treatments. Many common childhood conditions respond well to reflexology.
